What are the compatible devices?

iOS

  • Smartphones and tablets → ver. 13.0 or later
  • M1/M2/M3 macs and macbooks

Android

  • Smartphones and tablets → ver. 8.0 or later

Are the maps free for download?

Almost all maps are licensed (not free of charge) from the National Hydrographic Institutes.

Each area of the world (if included in our coverage) has been included in paid subscriptions.

A 14-day free trial is available for each subscription.

How to download the maps and start using the product?

Before you begin, ensure that you have purchased a subscription for the specific area you are interested in.

  • Tap the button located at the bottom left of the screen. This action will open a grid displaying selectable tiles.
  • Choose the specific map tiles you wish to download by tapping on them. Selected areas will be highlighted in blue.
  • Once you have made your selections, press the button located at the middle bottom of the screen, labeled "Start." This action will commence the download process, and as tiles are successfully downloaded, they will turn green.
  • After completing the download, you can zoom in to access and view detailed charts of the downloaded areas.

What are advanced tools subscriptions?

Advanced tools is the repository for all our Pro Features and Local Data. There are currently two subscription options available:

  • Expert - Pro features $14.99
  • Master - Pro features + Local data $24.99 (Currently available only in US and Canada)

What is a GEC Account?

The GEC Account allows you to share Aqua Map purchases with multiple devices (up to 5 simultaneously Android and Apple) and store/share routes, tracks, markers.

How Can I Archive/Transfer My Routes, Tracks, and Markers?

1. Export Your UserData to the GEC Account:

  • Tap the "Search" button located in the top right corner of the app's main screen and select the "UserData" view.
  • Press the "Edit" button.
  • Select the objects (Routes, Tracks, Markers) you wish to export and tap the "Share" button. You can choose multiple items for export.
  • Pick the desired format for exporting data (GPX, KMZ) and select "GEC Account" from the list. Your data will be saved in a file (or a folder, in case of multiple selections) within your GEC Account.

2. Import Data from Your GEC Account into the App:

  • Tap the "Search" button located in the top right corner of the app's main screen.
  • Select the "UserData" view.
  • Tap "Import from GEC Account."

How to share your inApp purchases on another device?

Devices with the same operating system

  • settings menu
  • restore purchases (after logging into the store with the ID used for the purchase)

Devices with different operating system

  • register your GEC Account on this website (sign in)
  • log in (within the app > settings > GEC Account) from the device where you made your inApp purchase
  • reconnect from another device with the same GEC Account, the app will enable purchases associated with the user

How to integrate your boats onboard instruments and use their data in the app?

Select "WiFi Connections" from the settings menu and tap the "+" button.

Then, tap "Enter Manually" and fill in the fields with the connection name, IP address, and port number.

NOTE: Make sure the devices are all connected to the same wifi network.

How to Cancel a Subscription? (also valid for cancelling the 14-day trial)

iOS:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  • Select Subscriptions.
  • Choose the subscription you want to manage.
  • If you cancel, your subscription will cease at the end of the current billing cycle.


Android:

  • Open the Play Store.
  • Click on the account icon located at the top right.
  • Navigate to Payment & Subscriptions.
  • Select Subscriptions.
  • If you cancel, your subscription will terminate at the end of the current billing cycle.

How to use a Redeem code

If you have a redeem code (a sequence of 8 alphanumeric characters, something like "a3W2xUzp") you can redeem from our website.

  1. Login to your GEC Account (if not yet done) from top-right button "Login/Sign in"
  2. Click on your username in the top-right
  3. Select the "Subscriptions and devices" tab 
  4. Type the redeem code in the proper field and click the "REDEEM" button
