Pressing and holding the distance icon 
, found within the zoom/scale window, will drag a ruler onto the map, providing accurate distance and direction between two chosen points.
You can then drag either the starting point, the end point, or the ruler itself, observing the real-time updates of the distance and bearing between the two points. As you drag, the selected point will have a slight offset from your finger, allowing for precise positioning.
